THE
CITY (illustrated above)
A five minute scratched on film animation showing the building of London
from the 13th century to the present day seen through the eyes of artists
and illustrators of the times. Developed in 2000 through the London
Production Fund and intended as the signature film for the new Imax
cinema at Piccadilly's Trocadero, the project was put on hold when plans
to open the cinema were abandoned. Half the budget had been raised through
the Arts Council National Lottery Fund and two loops of test animation
on 15 perf 70mm filmstock had been made and projected. Producers Paul
Bush and Cathy Shaw are still seeking funding either to develop this
project for a London large format cinema or adapt the idea for another
city's signature film.
